Existing Information Systems Analysis
If we gain a full understanding of where you have come from, and where you are today with your computer systems, as well as what you like and dislike, what works and what could use some work, we can then make recommendations on what we can leverage to make the new project better. This can include Asset Discovery services including computer hardware and software inventory, software and data, capacity studies, data output analysis (print, FAX, e-mail, file sharing etc.) and cabling systems. Net Xcellence has performed these services for many of our clients, and we believe this information is the springboard to successful migrations in the future.
After determining where you are currently, this process involves evaluation of what you need and want to accomplish with your systems in the future. This, like your design teams for the new building, will take on much the same format. Meetings with your employees, discussions of processes, workflow, “wish lists” and “gripe lists” assist us with this critical phase.
Local Area Network (LAN) Conversions
We have a great deal of experience in this area. Whether it is just a version upgrade of a network operating system, or a complete migration to a new platform, or something in-between. We are a Microsoft Partner and are well versed with Microsoft’s Server Software Suite.
Outsourcing LAN Support (On-site and Remote)
Net Xcellence understands that ongoing support is critical to successful use of Information Technology. You can use us as a technical resource to your Network Administrator or as on-site technicians to perform these services as you need them. We will step in or out of the loop wherever it makes sense for your company. Often troubleshooting, maintenance and system upgrades can be accomplished remotely.
Internet Connectivity/Network Integration
This area is a big portion of our business. Configuring your LAN for dedicated 24/7 Internet connection using digital lines such as DSL or T1 and setting up routers, bridges, gateways and firewalls is all part of this service. There are many choices for accomplishing this result, and depending on your needs, we can help you decide which direction and route you should use. Web Site Integration (Intranet – Internet) is a companion service that often accompanies the network integration, but we are not web site developers. We have been involved in the design phases of several extensive Intranet/Database/E-Commerce sites, but we partner with programming firms (PC Experts for example) to actually write the code. Corporate Email systems, using such groupware as Microsoft Exchange or Lotus Notes is an area where we do have experience and expertise. We can implement the server functions, set up your email site specific to your organization, and also do ongoing support, maintenance, etc.
Security (Internet and Otherwise) and Virus/Adware/Spyware Eradication:
We know how to secure your systems. If you have an Internet connection and/or wireless capabilities you need security. The bad guys are constantly pounding on your door. We can keep them at bay. Viruses and Adware/Spyware programs are a pain. We know how to make them go away too (and stay gone).
Hardware/Software Sales and Service:

- Regarding hardware, we get involved in several aspects including:
- Design, build and upgrades of Network Servers and workstations

- In addition, some of our customers have chosen other hardware suppliers and use us for maintenance, upgrades and service.
We sell, install and configure most mainstream software. If you have a unique vertical market application we can often be of assistance there as well.
Cabling, Design, Maintenance
This service is a very important one and often not given the respect it deserves. Poor cabling and design can adversely affect a great network, so we like to participate in this. We will often subcontract the actual running of the wire; however, we do have strong opinions about how, where and why the cable is run and what its capabilities are. Access, additional cable runs and organization are important, too. After the cable is run, we often complete the installation by termination at certified patch panels and Category 5 wall jacks. If we subcontract anything we will stand behind the work that is done.
Our role in this type of need is typically limited to the consulting portion and recommendation of programmers or software to accomplish a business need.
Document Imaging Consulting (CDIA)
We have experience in design, implementation and integration of imaging systems and have partners who can assist with document conversions, microfilm conversion and many other document management programs.
Learning to use a new system is critical to its ongoing success. We will help you in becoming fluent in the use of the system, from end user training to administrative functions. In some cases, we have found it beneficial to “train a trainer” so that you have an internal person who can handle ongoing training needs and knows your business from the inside.
Applications, Web, E-mail Hosting and Off-Site Critical Data Backup Services
